CATAWISSA BOROUGH

FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER

Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Catawissa Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman for the Catawissa Police Department.

General Requirements:

Candidates, at the time of application must:  (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Be Act 120 Certified under the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Act (Act 120), or shall have successfully completed Act 120 Training and successfully passed the final exam, thus being eligible for Act 120 Certification once hired by the Borough; (3) Be a United States Citizen; (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) Possess valid motor vehicle license and be eligible to legally operate a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania.

Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Borough’s Civil Service Rules and Regulations (that will include a background investigation and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.)  An application form and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Catawissa Borough Building, located at 307 Main Street, Catawissa, PA  17820.  A completed application, with a $25.00 non-refundable application fee, must be filed or sent to the attention of Civil Service Commission at the address above, before 4:00 p.m. on Friday February 13^th, 2026.

At 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17^th, 2026 the Physical Agility Test will be held at Phoenix Rehab. Center, 1000 Market Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. The written examination will be held at 12:30 p.m. on February 17^th, 2026 at the Catawissa Borough Hall.  At 9:00 a.m. on Friday February 20^th, an Oral Examination of qualifying candidates will be held at Catawissa Borough Hall.
